The Thinker Sculpture (Mini)
Auguste Rodin (1840–1917) originally conceived of The Thinker (1880) as representing Dante in his larger work The Gates of Hell. Later designed as an independent sculpture, The Thinker symbolizes the internal struggle of the creative mind. A larger-than-life version was displayed in 1904, and in 1922, a bronze cast of this famous sculpture was donated to the Detroit Institute of Arts. This reproduction is cast from a resin and plaster composition. 6”h x 2-3/4”w.
