Egyptian Turquoise and Lapis Bracelet
At the dawn of ancient Egypt civilization (c. 3100 B.C.), the belief in an afterlife was documented by hieroglyphics and tomb decorations. Jewelry was often worn as a protective talisman – gold symbolized the life-giving rays of the sun and gemstones often had religious significance. This museum-reproduction, three-strand gold-plated bracelet features turquoise, lapis and carnelian beads. 7” long.
