The Nut Gatherers Framed Print
The Nut Gatherers (1882) is an example of the sort of idyllic, sentimental scene for which William Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) is well known. Two young girls are shown sitting together in the woods, dressed simply and barefoot. Their quiet repose suggests both the vulnerability of youth and the carefree world of simple pleasures before the responsibilities of adulthood begin.
Reproduction of the oil on canvas, the double matted print is framed in gold wood. The approximate measurements are 12" x 15".
