Mancala

Mancala

The ancient game of strategy from Africa

For thousands of years, people all over the world have enjoyed playing a simple game of strategy called “Mancala”. The oldest-known Mancala board date over 3,500 years. Ancient Egyptians even carved Mancala into blocks discarded from the Great Pyramid (some historians believe that the workers played the game on their breaks).

Object of the game: To collect the most stones in your Mancala.

How to play: One player picks up all the stones from one of the small bowls and moves around the board dropping the stones one at a time into the bowls. By choosing which bowl to scoop, players use strategy to collect the most stones in their own Mancala and win the game.

Contents: Wooden Mancala board, 48 glass stones, and illustrated instructions.(2 players, ages 6 & up)
